Normal pressure Hydrocephalus research team making progress

A small research team is making big strides in the diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus. The team, based at the Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire, began its work in 2003 studying NPH which usually occurs in people aged 60 and over. Many of its symptoms are the same as those of dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease - making it difficult to diagnose. As a result, the condition may go untreated. G. Balamurali, a registrar in the Neurosurgery department, is the the main researcher leading the study. Read more:
